My Entrepreneurship Story

In college, a few of my friends were discussing fixable issues that we faced in our every day lives. They thought of a system where college students could help each other and also make money doing so. After countless hours of work they developed the new app Qwerk, which allows students to run errands for other students and make money doing so. This app is a great example of entrepreneurship in that they saw a problem on campus and used it as an opportunity.

Entrepreneurship has always intrigued me the longer I've been on a college campus. There are countless ideas and opportunities waiting to be uncovered. I enrolled in ENT 3003 in an effort to better my skills as an entrepreneur to increase my business sense as I get into the working world.

  1. Anderson,

Hello, I am your TA for this course, Rachel. I will be reading and commenting on your blog frequently. I enjoyed your entrepreneurship story. Did you help develop the Qwerk app? Or did your friends develop the app? I have heard a lot about this app so it's awesome that you have a connection to it. I hope you enjoy this class and it's everything that you hope it will be!

  2. Hi Anderson,
Yes, that is an excellent example of entrepreneurship. The app sounds like it provides a win win scenario. Errands get ran for those who do not have the time, and money gets made for those who do. That is really great, I will have to check it out.

  3. What's up Anderson,
Dude, I think Qwerk is an awesome idea! It's one thing identifying a need and coming up with a hypothetical solution, but the fact that your friends were able to create an actual product and market it is incredible. It seems like you're hanging out with the right kind of people and I really hope that one day you're able to share a product of your own that you were able to create through your entrepreneurial skills. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Anderson,

Several of my friends, roommates, and relatives work in computer software or are majoring in it and are consistently working on apps. What an incredible achievement to have your name attached to such a popular app! It reminds me of when students at FSU created a valet program where students could park other students cars if someone was running late and eventually FSU bought the app. Hopefully, you and your friends can keep finding new ways to solve issues around campus and eventually in the world!
